The 12u KPY Lady Knights opened their 2017 spring travel season at Central Islip High School with a double header vs the Brentwood Panthers. After another error, Jessica Sommo drove in 2 with a single of her own. Sarah Gunn (who was excellent behind the plate) singled in a run and after 16 batters hit, the Lady Knights were off to a 10-0 lead. In the 3rd, the Lady Knights would add to their lead with a 2 out, 3 run rally highlighted by a 2 run single by Gianna Pizzulli.

That was all the scoring that Lady Knights hurler Daniella Popko would need as she would hold the Panthers to 5 runs on 6 hits with only 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Daniella’s command was excellent, pitching to contact and earning Player of the Game honors. Lady Knights win 15-5.

Game 2 was a back and forth game. Brentwood took a 2 run lead in the top of the 1st and the Lady Knights answered back with 2 of their own, highlighted by an RBI single by Marissa Passantino.
