12u Lady Knights

After some weather-related time off, the 12u Lady Knights were back on the field on October 21 to face the Lady Owls in a rescheduled doubleheader.

Game One tipped early in the Lady Owls’ favor until Megan Kehoe came in relief to stop the bleeding.  Timely hitting by Cassidy Cowatch, Kiki Bass, and Julie Thomas allowed the Lady Knights to claw back in it.  Although the late inning rally wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit and the team took a 17-15 loss, the Lady Knights showed heart and refused to quit.

Momentum was on their side in a Game Two, as Tyler Salerno stepped up to pitch a complete game.  Ava Stramara’s defense, including a highlight reel throw from her knees, helped keep the score close.  In the end, the hustle of Kelsey Donohue, Leila Toomey, and the rest of the Lady Knights brought home a big walk-off 11-10 win in the bottom of the 7th.

One last doubleheader next Sunday will determine the final standings, with the 12u Lady Knights fighting for top spot for the Fall Season.

Way to make Kings Park proud, Lady Knights!
