General Information
KPY is happy to offer a full baseball and softball season for our community. This program will continue to provide a wide range of memorable experiences for more than 500 of our kids. Beginners at all ages will learn the basics of our national pastime while more experienced players will continue to grow their skillsets with balanced competitive play. All players will get healthy exercise, play on teams with and against their friends, and make new friends. Our coaches encourage players to learn by trying any field positions and lineup spots they wish to focus on creating a competitive and fun experience for each player.
The season begins early April and goes through mid June. Playoffs are held for the AAA (boys) and Minors (girls) and above divisions. Games and practices are held at fields located in Kings Park (KP Memorial, Cy Donnelly & Flynn Memorial Parks as well as KP School District fields).
Includes free skills clinics with KPHS coaches and players– Full uniform package – Opening day parade – Practices – 10+ game season – Officially umpired games (3rd grade and up) – Playoffs – All-star events – Hoyt Farm family picnic – Trophies

How are Teams Formed
Baseball Farms through AA Divisions
Commissioner or designee will assign players to rosters to form balanced rosters. Best efforts will be made to honor parent requests thereafter if possible.
Baseball AAA through Roger Maris Divisions
Divisional blind drafts are conducted by the coordinators and coaches to form fair and balanced rosters
Girls Softball Farm & Rookie Divisions
Commissioner or designee will assign players to rosters. Each team roster will be balanced and comprised of players from both grade levels contained within the respective division. (i.e. each Rookie division team will contain both 2nd & 3rd grade players). Best efforts will be made to consider parent requests thereafter.
Girls Softball Minors & Majors Divisions
Commissioner or designee will assign players to rosters. Team rosters will be comprised of players from both grade levels contained within the respective division. KPY player assessments will be utilized to create team rosters to best ensure each team is balanced and contains players to field the pitching and catching positions.
Special Requests
Special requests are reviewed by the appropriate Commissioner and/or appointee to identify unique situations requiring consideration such as siblings in the same age division. Requests to have a player be placed on a specific coach’s team or for car pooling purposes are generally not considered unless a unique situation is identified as requests often make division parity difficult to achieve.
Coach Pairings (requests)
KPY encourages every parent to consider volunteering as a manager, coach, team parent or in any other capacity. The more volunteers assisting a division or team the better experience we can provide the kids. However, in order to insure each team has adequate coaching, maintain fairness and be able to create proper team rosters, a maximum of two volunteers requesting to be paired as a manager and coach will be considered for each team. All other volunteers will be assigned a team based on the team their child is assigned to.
